Birthplace of the renowned Avatar Yangchen, the Western Air Temple is the other temple that features a girls-only dorm. However, unlike other Air Temples, this one was built underneath a cliff edge instead of on top a mountain. As well as the odd location, the actual buildings of the Western Air Temple were built upside down, which makes it almost completely hidden from passerby. The spires also contain a number of bison paintings and a statue of Avatar Yangchen herself.
