	patola mountains Located on an island in the South Sea, the Patola Mountain Range houses the Southern Air Temple. The mountains consist of massive, angular peaks, so tall that the only practical way of reaching the summit is by airbison. Situated on the told of the Patola Mountain Range, the Southern Air Temple is the birthplace of Avatar Aang. The temple has been abandoned for decades; left uninhabited after the Air Nomad Genocide. Because of this neglect, the Southern Air Temple is now in ruins; crumbling to the ground due to erosion from the elements. Although little to nothing remains of this temple, it is inhabited by a vast amount of skybison. The few bison that are still alive have made the Southern Air Temple their permanent home; guaranteed protection from outsiders, as the only way to reach the temple it to travel through the Mountain Range it resides on.
